When we arrived yesterday afternoon, we had discovered that there was more to Roissy-en-France than wall to wall Airport Hotels! This had been a farming community & today the village is still here. They have made such an effort to beautify the area with pathways, parks and gardens. It was such a pleasure to wander around admiring the buildings & atmosphere.
Therefore, this morning, instead of investing in the Hotel's breakfast offerings, we walked back down to the village at 7am, in time for the patisserie to open it's doors! With pane au chocolat & takeaway coffee in hand we walked back to eat our purchases in the gardens.
We were the only humans enjoying the fresh morning air, however, the birds were happily flitting around & singing in the trees & around the gardens.
It was a wonderful way to start the day!
